Discover the new Physical Review Fluids section
New Experiments, Algorithms, and Theory (NEAT)
Do you have research that contributes novel work in fluid dynamics discovery? Does your research introduce a new technique that demonstrates potential for substantial discovery in fluid dynamics, or extend current capabilities to model complex fluid dynamics problems? If so, consider submitting to PRFluids’ newest section, wholly dedicated to new experiments, algorithms, and theory (NEAT)!
What do NEAT submissions require?
Each submission must present a new numerical, experimental, ML/AI or theoretical approach/methodology/method and its validation and either:
- underpin a companion paper that has been submitted in parallel to Phys. Rev. Fluids or another Phys. Rev. journal focused on the traditional journal goals of publishing papers contributing novel work in fluid dynamics discovery
OR - introduce a new technique that demonstrates potential for substantial discovery in fluid dynamics, or
- extends current capabilities to model complex fluid dynamics problems, documents sufficient validation and provides substantiated generalization.
Authors should ensure that one of these points is addressed explicitly in the manuscript (and ideally in the cover letter too). For the former route, the cover letter should refer to the title of the companion paper.
Are there specific requirements for the submitting authors?
Authors are asked to provide a link to data and/or code that is used to make the benchmark comparison, along with any metadata that would be required to replicate the results, in accordance with APS general policy on sharing.
Who will be handling NEAT manuscripts?
NEAT manuscripts (and the accompanying companion papers, where relevant), will be handled by a sub-group of Associate Editors who are familiar with the goals of the new section and with expertise in each category.
